Snow has officially fallen the last two days. Ugghh, winter is here. Of course, no accumulation, but I saw the white stuff. I'm not real happy! My fault for living in WI. Right? It was such a gloomy Monday. I also had to break out the shoes. Yuck!
El has gotten used to helmet very well. I'm so proud of her! She is taking it like a pro! She was supposed to wear it to bed tonight, but I decided one more day. She is supposed to be getting used to sweating somewhere else, other than her head. She is still sweating under there and I did not want her to have to sleep in sweat. Hopefully one more day will get her used to it.
Yay, here little butterfly costume came today! It is ADORABLE! I can't wait until Friday! She'll be so cute! For me not liking Halloween, I sure am excited now for the day to come!
Things are going well witht the helmet! Yay! She is taking it way better than expected. Tomorrow is going to be a test for sure. She will have to wear it for naps and bed. I've already decided that if naps don't go, then bedtime is helmetless. I am going to need sleep and so is she. Plus, I think I'm getting strep throat and I think tomorrow's going to be a long day either way! Yuck!
Full day one is almost over. She is down for her second nap, not wearing it yet for naps, but seems to be taking it well. Me on the other hand... not so good. Every time I look at her, especially when she's tugging at it, is torture! I know it's hot and uncomfortable and I don't blame her for tugging on it. She is sweating like a pig, the poor thing. But, she's been brave and taking it like a champ! I am so proud of her! So, we just keep wearing it more and more over the next couple days until her body gets used to the heat and just her getting used to it. By Monday, she'll be wearing it full time, 23 hours a day.
I was mistaken that at 18 months she'd be finished with it. She apparently, depending on her growing, could be wearing it up to 24 months. I don't care how long, as long as there are results! Keep the fingers crossed!
On a good note! I went and did some retail therapy today! I got two sets of acrylic stamps, an emboss glue pad, a paper distresser, and a pack of paper to add to my 3 1/2 foot collection. It may be higher, but I love paper and am proud of it! I should really go through my stack and sell some though, cuz there's a crap ton that I haven't even touched in months. I will probably get a stack together and put it on Craigslist or something. Maybe have a contest. Who knows! Or maybe I'll keep it and litl E will practise someday being a scrapper with her mommy! I sure hope so!
Big day for little El. She got her helmet today. I was at work while Jeremy went and got her fitted. It fit, so they brought her home wearing her new cheesy white $1500 piece of jewelry. Ugghh, it's plastic. Really, why so expensive?? Anyway, I get a text message from J while at work and open to a photo of my poor helpless little peanut wearing her new helmet. I break down right there and bawl. And bawl. And bawl. Then, I suck it up to come home to my brave little girl. She was napping so I didn't have to see it right away, but soon as she woke it was time to put it on again. Tears well up, but I tryed to stay happy so she does as well. So, I guess we'll wait and see how things go. I'll keep praying.
