Ella's favorite book for the moment.
So, I was checking in on Tracy's writers block or lack there of, when I read about this site to check out! She has an amazing little birdie ring dish up for grabs and I hope that I can win it! Check it out at http://4kennedys.blogspot.com/2009/02/its-giveaway-time.html She's announcing the winner on Wed, so you've still got time!
Ella is a BIG GRADUATE! We went to the orthotist last week and he didn't have much positive to say about Ella growing anymore. He suggested we get a second look and maybe an x-ray to see if her head would do any more correcting. I have taken pictures along the journey and hadn't seen anything happening in over a month. She was definitely starting to get really stuffed in there and wasn't herself. Quite crabby. Daddy went away for the weekend and I thought I'd give it a go, without. Test it out, to see just how she reacted. Wow, a different person!!! So much happier! So when Daddy got home, we had a talk. Deciding to go get an x-ray or letting it go was hard, but the orthotist confirmed what we had already been thinking for a month. So her graduation date was 2.21.09! She wore it for just shy of 4 months. 10.24.08-2.21.09 This is a lot longer than a younger child would have to wear it, but is way over the limit of age they say it will work for. I of course expected it to be perfect when done, but that is not usually possible in a older child. I am mostly happy with the results, but being her mother, obviously wished for more. I will love her no matter what and am so proud of her! She was such a trooper through this whole thing! Congrats Ella!!!11.4.08~Very flat on the right back and bulging sides. Had a slight bulge in the forehead too, but went away nicely!
2.22.08~Still a very slight flat spot and slight bulging on the sides.
Alright, it's probably ABOUT TIME to post an update on the life of me...Snow, snow, cold, and more snow, and more cold is about all it's been doing here. I just can't even remember it ever being this cold this much! We did have a warm up of 40 a couple weeks ago and took advantage of it. We got Jason and Bonnie to come out with Alyssa and Dylan to do a little sledding with Ella. We had a blast! Until I flipped the 3 wheeler on top of me. Didn't get hurt, but scared the bejeezus out of Ella! Poor little thing screaming for momma!
After Jeremy pulled the 3 wheeler off of me, we decided to dig in to the big ass lasagna I made! Mmm, good! Then Maggie decided to make love to Jason's leg, AS USUAL!!!! Man, I don't know what it is about Jason??
Ella has been out of her helmet more and more. The think isn't fitting to well. She seems to have neck aches and I'm not really sure I'm seeing any results anymore. We were planning to have her wear it for another month, but after she woke up screaming and pulling at her neck and crying for a hour straight, I thought I'd give it try without it on tonight while she sleeps. Not sure how it'll turn out in the morning, but I'm pretty sure she's had it with that thing! So Sat, I got a call from Jeremy informing to "not freak out" when I got home. Ella had a 'little accident.' Hmmm, if it's bad enough to call me, I have a feeling it's not good! She had a little run in with the wood pile. Yup, I still freaked a little! It's healing quite nicely though!
Well, Jeremy is away for the weekend, ice fishing with the boys. Next weekend, I am FINALLY going to go out with some girls! I am in need of getting out and letting loose. Can't wait! I just hope I can handle my liquor...
